New Delhi, Nov 11, 2025 | Prime Headlines:
Yamaha India has officially entered the electric vehicle (EV) segment with the launch of two new models — the Aerox E and the EC-06. This marks the Japanese manufacturer’s long-awaited debut in India’s rapidly growing electric two-wheeler market.
In addition to its EV rollout, Yamaha has also launched two premium petrol-powered motorcycles — the FZ Rave, priced at ₹1.17 lakh, and the XSR155, priced at ₹1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Both models are aimed at the deluxe and performance commuter segments.
The Aerox E and EC-06 are expected to combine Yamaha’s sporty DNA with modern EV technology, focusing on urban riders who want style, range, and reliability. The company has hinted that both scooters will feature connected tech, fast charging, and lightweight design.
In a major announcement, Yamaha confirmed plans to launch 26 new two-wheelers in India by the end of next year, including electric, hybrid, and performance models.
> “India is one of our most important markets. We are investing in both electric innovation and exciting new products for Indian riders,” said a Yamaha India spokesperson.
With this move, Yamaha joins major two-wheeler makers like Hero, Honda, and TVS in the EV revolution, signaling a strong shift toward sustainable mobility in India’s motorcycle market.
