Maruti Suzuki Launches New Dzire at ₹6.79 Lakh: A Compact Sedan With Safety and Style
Maruti Suzuki India has unveiled the fourth-generation Dzire, starting at ₹6.79 lakh, marking a significant upgrade in both design and safety. Known as India’s best-selling compact sedan, the Dzire has sold over 27 lakh units. This new model not only features a refreshed, more European-inspired design but also scores an impressive 5-star GNCAP safety rating.
The Dzire is available in four variants: LXI, VXI, ZXI, and ZXI+. Automatic options are available in higher trims, while CNG is offered in VXI and ZXI models. The sedan’s new 3-cylinder Z12E engine, shared with the Swift, delivers 82 horsepower and impressive fuel efficiency, achieving up to 25.71 kmpl with the AMT transmission and 33.73 km/kg in its CNG variant. Manual and AMT 5-speed transmission options cater to a range of driver preferences, though CNG trims are available only with a manual gearbox.
Inside, the cabin takes on a lighter, more refined look, featuring a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an electric sunroof, and a 360-degree camera for added convenience. The sedan also includes essential safety features as standard, such as ABS with EBD, six airbags, ESP, traction control, and hill-hold assist.
With its updated design, high safety standards, and a palette of seven color options, including Gallant Red and Alluring Blue, the Dzire aims to remain competitive against rivals like the Honda Amaze. Maruti also offers the Dzire through a subscription model, starting at ₹18,248 per month, making it accessible for a broader range of buyers.
