Lenskart Unveils ‘B by Lenskart’ Smartglasses to Rival Meta’s Ray-Ban

Indian eyewear giant Lenskart has officially introduced its upcoming smartglasses, branded as “B by Lenskart,” marking its entry into the global augmented reality (AR) market — and directly challenging Meta’s Ray-Ban smartglasses.

Powered by the Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chip, the same processor used in leading AR devices worldwide, these smartglasses promise to blend cutting-edge technology with everyday usability.

What sets B by Lenskart apart is its developer-friendly approach. The company plans to open the platform to Indian software developers, allowing them to build and integrate their own apps — spanning categories like fitness, food delivery, payments, entertainment, and more.

In a major India-specific innovation, the glasses will also support UPI payments, turning the wearable into a hands-free, multifunctional device that goes beyond just capturing photos or playing music.

Unlike most existing smartglasses that serve as simple wearable cameras, Lenskart’s model is designed to evolve — with regular software updates and an expanding range of use cases built by a growing developer community.

Tech experts say this move could help position India as a serious player in the AR wearable technology space, especially if Lenskart successfully combines style, affordability, and smart functionality.

> “These aren’t just glasses — they’re a platform,” a company insider said. “We want to make eyewear as smart as your phone.”

With B by Lenskart, India may soon have its own answer to Meta’s vision of smart eyewear — one tailored for everyday life, payments, and the fast-growing digital ecosystem.
