Indian Railways Launches “RailOne” App — Your All-in-One Mobile Travel Companion

PrimeHeadlines.com | July 2, 2025 — On the 40th Foundation Day of the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled RailOne, a comprehensive mobile app aimed at streamlining passenger services across India’s rail network .
📱 What RailOne Offers:
Unreserved UTS Tickets via the in-app R‑Wallet, with a 3% fare discount
Live train tracking for real-time updates
Grievance redressal, e‑catering, porter booking, and last-mile taxi services
Seamless login via mPIN or biometric, supporting credentials from RailConnect & UTS
The app is now live on both the Android Play Store and iOS App Store, designed to reduce app clutter by consolidating services previously spread across multiple platforms .
🎯 Reserved Tickets Still via IRCTC
While RailOne covers unreserved tickets, IRCTC will continue to handle reserved bookings. The app is IRCTC-authorized, following the model of several other commercial partners .

⚙️ What’s Next: Modern PRS
The Minister also announced a ground-up revamp of the Passenger Reservation System (PRS), expected by December 2025. The upgraded system will be:
Fast and scalable (1.5 lakh bookings, 40 lakh enquiries per minute)
Multilingual and feature-rich, including seat choice, fare calendars, and support for Divyangjan, students, and medical travelers
🌟 Why It Matters
This launch aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of transforming Indian Railways into a digital mobility powerhouse. By integrating ticketing, real-time information, and grievance handling, RailOne represents a major leap forward in passenger convenience and digital efficiency .
