Rahul Gandhi, Kharge and INDIA Bloc MPs March Towards Rajghat on Day 3 of Protest Against CEC Gyanesh Kumar

New Delhi: Opposition leaders of the INDIA bloc continued their protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Thursday, October 8, marking the third consecutive day of demonstrations in the national capital.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and several INDIA bloc MPs gathered in Connaught Place before proceeding towards Rajghat. The Opposition is demanding Kumar’s resignation and the rollback of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, citing alleged irregularities in the process.
The march comes after two days of protests in Delhi during which Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other opposition leaders were detained by police. Security has been tightened across central Delhi, with restrictions imposed around Rajghat.
The Election Commission and BJP have rejected the Opposition’s allegations concerning the electoral roll revision.
The INDIA bloc has indicated that it will continue raising its concerns over the SIR exercise and electoral processes.
