Government Starts Online Census Self-Enumeration Facility

The government has launched an online self-enumeration facility for the Census, allowing people to submit their household details digitally before the visit of census officials.

Citizens can complete the process through the official Self-Enumeration Portal by logging in with their mobile number and OTP verification. Users will need to select their State or Union Territory, mark their residence on a digital map, and enter details of all family members living in the house.

After submitting the information, a unique Self-Enumeration (SE) ID will be generated. This ID must be shown to the census enumerator during their field visit to complete the verification process.

Officials said the online system is optional but strongly encouraged to make the Census process faster and more accurate. The portal is available in 16 languages and also includes FAQs, tutorial videos, and user guides to help citizens complete the process easily.

Authorities have advised people to complete the self-enumeration before census officials begin visiting their areas.
