West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Leads Protest Against ED Searches in Kolkata

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday led a protest march in Kolkata against recent searches carried out by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with political consultancy firm I-PAC.
The march was joined by senior leaders and supporters of the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Addressing supporters during the protest in Kolkata, Banerjee alleged that central agencies were being misused to target opposition parties and intimidate political workers.
TMC leaders claimed the ED action was politically motivated and aimed at disrupting the party ahead of upcoming political events. They asserted that the party would continue to resist what it called “unfair pressure” from central agencies.
The ED has not issued any fresh public statement on the protest, while officials maintain that searches are conducted as part of routine investigations under the law.
