Tamil Nadu Seeks ₹2,000 Crore Relief for Cyclone Fengal Damage

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release ₹2,000 crore as interim relief from the National Disaster Response Fund following the devastation caused by Cyclone Fengal. The storm resulted in 12 deaths, massive infrastructure damage, and disruption of lives, affecting over 1.5 crore people across the state.

Stalin highlighted extensive losses, including submerged farmland, destroyed roads, and damaged power infrastructure. Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai, and Kallakurichi districts faced unprecedented rainfall. The state also requested a central team to assess damages for further financial aid.
