Israeli Strikes Kill 41 in Gaza, Including Civilians Near Aid Sites

PrimeHeadlines.com | June 15, 2025 — At least 41 Palestinians were killed on Sunday as Israeli gunfire and airstrikes swept across multiple locations in Gaza, including areas near aid distribution centers run by the U.S.-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), local health authorities confirmed.

Among the dead were five civilians who were either approaching or en route to GHF food aid sites — two of them near Rafah and three near the Netzarim corridor. Al-Awda Hospital reported dozens more wounded, raising renewed concerns over the safety of humanitarian corridors in the conflict-torn region.

The GHF had resumed food deliveries on Sunday, distributing over 2 million meals from its three major sites without incident, despite the deadly violence nearby. Since its launch in late May — following Israel’s partial lifting of a three-month total blockade — the GHF has been one of the few operational aid lifelines in Gaza.

In addition to the aid-related casualties, airstrikes in Beit Lahiya, Nuseirat refugee camp, and southern Gaza claimed the lives of at least 30 more people, with one strike reportedly killing 11 civilians in a single house.

There has been no official comment from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) regarding the Sunday operations.

Meanwhile, the United Nations criticized the Israeli-backed aid delivery model as “inadequate, dangerous, and in violation of humanitarian impartiality.” The UN maintains that aid must be delivered through neutral, internationally coordinated channels to ensure the safety of civilians and relief workers.

Despite ongoing violence, COGAT, the Israeli military’s aid coordination agency, said it facilitated the entry of 292 trucks carrying UN and international aid this week — including essential supplies like food and flour.

As the humanitarian crisis deepens and international scrutiny intensifies, Sunday’s deadly strikes highlight the fragile line between security operations and the need for protected humanitarian relief in Gaza.
