Russia launched missile and drone attacks on Kyiv and Lviv, near Poland’s border, on Wednesday, following a deadly strike on a military institute in Poltava that killed 50 and injured hundreds.
Air defense systems were active in both cities, with blasts reported. Residential buildings in Lviv were damaged, and Poland activated its air defense in response.
The strikes come amid Russia’s intensified missile campaign, seen as retaliation for Ukraine’s recent incursion into Russian territory.
